Thé: Une Ceremonie Occidental was a site-specific installation for the Musée Renoir Biennale de Sculpture in which I performed a contemporary version of a tea ceremony for my audience during the course of two weeks. The choreography for the ceremony was inspired by the formal and deliberate movements of the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Ordinary household objects found in contemporary French culture were used to create an environment of familiarity. The tea house itself was constructed completely out of found materials from a 15km radius around the museum.
